Mainly dry and very cold, snow in Ireland

Mild this morning with rain and drizzle in the southeast. Plenty of low cloud along southern coasts too, with an increasing cloud and drizzle affecting western Wales and southwest England through this morning. Windy with showers in northwest Scotland, brighter with showers in Ireland. Drier in northeast England and eastern Scotland.

Rain may become more persistent in East Anglia and southeast England, before slowly clearing. Further showers across central and western England and Wales, some bright or sunny spells developing. Brighter Scotland, windy with some showers in the west. Staying bright in Ireland, scattered showers in the west.

Drier this evening for most with showers fading. Increasing wind and cloud across Ireland and the western UK with rain spreading to these areas. Tending to remain dry in the east until morning.
