Morning Call - February 22, 2021
Early rain England & Wales
Showers NW Scotland & Ireland

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 22nd February 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Rain over parts of England and Wales moves east this morning and fades. A brighter start for northern and western areas though showers affect coastal areas here. Breezy here too. Cloud thickens and winds pick up across Ireland this afternoon with rain arriving here later.

Good Morning,

A front brings outbreaks of rain this morning to an area extending from northeast England through the Midlands and west Wales into south-central England. This gradually clears from the south during the morning and into the early afternoon. A cloudy but dry start for southeastern parts of England while the rest of the UK and Ireland sees a brighter start to the day though showers affect northwestern parts of Scotland and Ireland.

Rain clears from eastern England during the afternoon though it stays rather cloudy here and to the southeast. Brighter conditions elsewhere though showers persist over northwest Scotland. During the afternoon winds pick up and cloud thickens across Ireland with rain arriving over far western counties later.

Rain continues to spread across Ireland this evening while winds pick up and cloud thickens over western parts of the UK. The best of any clear skies this evening develop over eastern and southeastern parts of England.

Have a good day!

Claire
