Very cold, snow showers in the east but drier and brighter in the west
It's going to be another very cold day across the British Isles. If you do head outside today then you will have to be wrapped up. The strong east wind will be adding to the cold with a significant wind-chill. There will be some snow flurries and cloud affecting eastern coasts and hills throughout this morning. Brighter to the west and drier. Some snow showers along southern coasts too.
Littler changes this afternoon with further snow flurries in the east and south. Brighter to the west with good spells of sunshine here. Strongest of the winds in the southwest, but remaining breezy for all.
Tonight is cold again with snow showers in the east. The winds are likely to be easing. Drier in the west with clearer skies. A widespread and severe frost, especially where there is snow on the ground and skies are clearer.
