Bitterly cold
Snow in east mainly

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 8th February 2021
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Bitterly cold in that easterly wind. Snow showers affecting eastern areas mainly.

In the morning, snow showers will push onto eastern regions of the UK mainly but will push across towards the west at times. Drier in the west with some sunny spells. Feeling very cold.

In the afternoon, snow showers will continue to affect mainly eastern areas but will reach across to some western regions, more noticably parts of Wales, through the afternoon. Snow showers turning heavy and more persistent across east Scotland. Becoming cloudier in the south with the best of any sunshine towards the northwest. Very cold in that persistent easterly wind.

Overnight, snow will continue to fall across eastern areas mainly, but reaching some western regions too. Clearer skies towards the west and northwest. Severe frosts are expected.
