A mild day, lots of cloud and damp for some, then rain tonight

It's another cloudy and breezy morning for most areas. There will be some spots of drizzle in the east with more persistent rain in the west. Low cloud shrouds hills in the west with drizzle at times.

This afternoon sees rain moving into Scotland and clearing eastern England. Drizzle into southwest England and western Wales as well as southern Ireland. The drizzle becomes more persistent later in the afternoon with some heavy bursts of rain possible in southwest England and southern Wales by evening. Other areas should be mostly dry with lots of cloud, some rain clearing northern Scotland.

Overnight it becomes wet for a while through most of England and Wales. The rain then clears eastwards with drier weather following from the west. Some heavy showers in Ireland and western Scotland and breezy for all. Mild though.
