Issued: 0530hrs Friday 24th March 2023
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Thundery, heavy showers and sunshine.

The morning sees plenty of sunshine about and many staying dry, though showers become more prevalent in the west, some heavy with the risk of thunder and lightning.

The afternoon sees the showers become more widespread across the country, many with heavy bursts of rain within in them, possible hail and lightning too. Blustery winds through England, Wales and Ireland.

Showers continue overnight with longer spells of rain across northern England and Scotland. Turning chilly across parts of northern and central Scotland, though reasonably mild elsewhere.
