Ver cold and mostly dry, but rain, sleet and snow in southern England

A windy, bright and milder morning for England and Wales. Some rain and shower in western Wales and southwest England as well as northwest England. More persistent rain central and southern Scotland with some snow on hills. Further cloud and periods of rain in Ireland. An area of snow into northern Scotland too.

Becoming wetter this afternoon across much of northern England and southern Scotland, snow on hills here. An area of rain passing through central and southern England and Wales. Probably brighter bur colder in Ireland. Some heavy showers in northwest Scotland too.

Rain tonight turning to snow over the Pennines before passing through the Midlands, Wales and East Anglia, clearing east. Windy in England too. Snow showers in northern and western Scotland, some of them heavy. Drier overall though for northern England and Scotland with a frost and ice here.
