Cloudy
Rain north

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 5th January 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mostly cloudy day across the UK and Ireland with outbreaks of rain affecting northern Scotland. Isolated spots of drizzle or light rain may affect western parts of Ireland and Wales and the northwest of England. A breezy day too across the country with coastal gales to the northwest.

Good Morning,

Away from northwestern and northern parts of Scotland it's a mostly dry but cloudy start to the day on Sunday. Breezy across the country with coastal gales to the northwest. Some light rain or drizzle may develop at times for western parts of Ireland and Wales and over northwestern parts of England. Mostly cloudy elsewhere with the best of any brightness to the east.

Outbreaks of rain continue to affect the northern half of Scotland through the afternoon while drizzly rain continues to be a possibility for western parts of Ireland and the UK. Staying breezy too into the afternoon with plenty of cloud around. Highs ranging from about 7 to 11C, coolest in the southeast, warmer to the north and west.

Into Sunday evening rain starts to clear to the north away from mainland Scotland but continues for the Northern Isles. A mostly dry night elsewhere but staying rather overcast.

Have a good day!

Claire
