Morning Call - January 10, 2020
Dry, bright start
Rain, wind arrive later

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 10th January 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mostly dry and bright start to the day across the UK and Ireland though cloud builds in from the west with rain arriving here later. Much of the rain will be focussed over northern and western parts of Ireland and Scotland and this is where we'll also see the strongest winds. Staying mostly dry, but increasingly windy and cloudy, across England and Wales.

Good Morning,

Any early showers over eastern England and northern Scotland quickly ease to leave a dry morning across the UK and Ireland. Cloudier to the northwest, west and southeast but plenty of sunshine for much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland.

Cloud, strong winds and rain arrive from the west through the afternoon with cloud building across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and western England. Rain affects western and northwestern Ireland as well as western parts of Scotland and the Northern Isles. Winds pick up here too through the afternoon reaching gale to severe gale force. Highs ranging from 5 to 8C, mildest to the west.

Windy across the country into Thursday evening with gales for northwestern areas. Rain continuing over northwestern areas. Cloudy but staying dry for much of England and Wales as well as eastern parts of Scotland and Ireland.

Have a good day!

Claire
