Broken cloud and sunny spells, a chilly one tonight

Good morning,

A ridge of high pressure building through Ireland and the UK today. That brings a mostly dry day with broken cloud. There will be sunny spells, the best in the east. Western areas seeing more cloud with a risk of some showers here. The afternoon sees more broken cloud and some further bright or sunny spells. Again there could just be an odd shower on the hills especially in the north and west. Feeling rather cool in the cloud, but milder where the sun comes through.

A chilly night ahead with clear skies allowing temperatures to fall quickly. A touch of ground frost in sheltered areas such as mid-Wales, northern England and Scotland.
