Morning Call - July 31, 2018
Dry and bright for many
Warmest south-east

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 31st July 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Increasingly wet western Scotland

Good morning,

Low pressure is to the north-west of the British Isles, producing a southwesterly flow across the country today. Fairly breezy, strongest winds toward the north-west.

Fronts move in from the Atlantic, bringing rain to Northern Ireland and western Scotland, turning more persistent here through the day. Patchy rain reaches north-west England through the afternoon.

Generally dry and bright across England, Wales and eastern Scotland, with best sunshine in central and eastern districts. Local showers possible in central-eastern England early in the day. Cloud will thicken across western areas.

Today's top temperatures will reach 25C in East Anglia and the south-east. Around 23C for the Midlands, 19 to 21C in north-eastern areas, and 17 to 19C in western England and Wales. Western Scotland will be much cooler where rain develops, only 12 to 14C.

Have a great day.
Garry
