Quite humid

A messy day - rain for many hours some areas

Good morning,

A broad and complex area of low pressure is positioned over the western British Isles, whilst a waving frontal zone extends from south-west to north-east across England today.

Prolonged heavy rain for some, focused on Devon, Dorset and the Midlands in the morning, drifting slowly eastwards. An occluded front lies across central-northern Scotland, bringing many hours of rain. Thundery showers follow the front across western Britain, local torrential bursts resulting in localised flooding.

Warm and humid in the south-east ahead of the front, with a little hazy sun, but skies will be mostly overcast today. Some areas may escape dry for several hours. A south to southwesterly breeze, strongest around the English Channel. Brisk easterlies for northern Scotland.

Today's top temperatures will climb to a humid 25C in the south-east away from rain, otherwise nearer 20 to 23C, but several degrees cooler in rain. North-east Scotland only 12 to 15C, perhaps lower.

Have a great day.
Garry
