Morning Call - August 10, 2018
Thundery downpours
Frequent rain for some

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 10th August 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

A chilly night ahead!

Good morning,

A showery westerly pattern influences the British Isles today, with various troughs passing eastwards, generating heavy downpours with local thunder.

Showers will be focused on western areas in the morning, but will spread increasingly eastwards and become more widespread into the afternoon. Improving in western areas, with drier and sunnier periods through the afternoon and evening.

Blustery winds, strongest around the English Channel coasts. Feeling cool when showers come through, especially in the north-west, but pleasantly warm in the sun.

Today's top temperatures will be 17 to 22C, warmest in the south-east, then dropping cool overnight into Saturday, dipping into single figures for many rural areas.

Have a great day.
Garry
