Morning Call - August 19, 2018
Murky and damp
Humid and breezy

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 19th August 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Rain or drizzle most of day in north

Good morning,

An area of low pressure moves eastwards across northern England and southern Scotland, with a complex frontal wave running through these areas. A humid air mass across the country contains the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto.

Heavy rain will slowly fade to drizzle in the north, but leaving murky conditions for many. Largely dry in central and south-east England. Drizzly and foggy around south-western coasts.

A brisk southwesterly breeze, strongest through the English Channel, gusting 30-40mph around exposed headlands. Light variable winds in the north of Scotland, where much of the day should escape dry and bright.

Today's top temperatures will reach a muggy 22 to 25C in the Midlands and eastern England. Elsewhere 17 to 20C, but may only reach 13C in eastern Scotland where rain may persist into the afternoon.

Have a great day.
Garry
