Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 2nd August 2018 Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling
Rain, drizzle and hill fog in the north and west.
Good morning,
Another northwest / southeast split for today, the proximity of a ridge of high pressure bringing dry, sunny and hot, albeit humid weather, to the south and southeast of England. Further to the north, across the Midlands and Northeast it will stay dry but cloudier. Across Scotland, Northwest England, Wales and parts of Ireland, however, thickening and lowering cloud associated with weather fronts will bring rain or drizzle, with a risk of some heavier bursts at times.
Temperatures will hold in the range 17 to 19C in the cloudy damp areas but reach 23C in parts of Northeast Scotland, 25 or 26C in the Midlands and with a peak of 28 to 30C in the southeast. Simon Email me at [email protected]
