Morning Call - August 11, 2018
Dry north & east
Rain setting in south-west

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 11th August 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Increasingly windy around south-western coasts

Good morning,

A ridge of high pressure drifts eastwards into the North Sea today, followed by falling pressure from the west as low pressure west of Ireland moves in.

Fronts will push rain across Ireland and into south-western Britain, becoming heavier for south Wales and south-west England, with prolonged falls of rain into the evening and night. By evening, rain also advances more widely north-eastwards into central-northern England and southern Scotland.

East & south-east England and much of Scotland should stay dry all day. Sunshine weakening as high cloud builds from the west. Southerly winds strengthening around coasts in the west & south-west.

Today's top temperatures reaching 22 to 24C in central & eastern England, also locally warm in sheltered spots in north-east Wales and on the Moray coast of Scotland. Around 18 to 21C elsewhere, cooler where rain develops.

Have a great day.
Garry
