Sunshine, dry, mild
Overnight patchy frosts

Issued: 0900 Friday 26th February 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Dry and mild with sunshine, but a risk of early slight frosts

High pressure will be with us over the coming days and that brings lots of dry weather. There will be sunshine too although with clear skies overnight some slight frosts are likely. It won't be sunshine all the way through as weak fronts bring some broken cloud and a scattering of showers for some.

Monday 01/03/21
High pressure is centred to the east of the UK on Monday. A patchy frost is possible first thing over northern England and southern Scotland in particular. Any early mist and fog patches burn off quickly. A southeast flow develops over southern areas and brings some cloud through Ireland and southwest England. Sunnier skies to the north and east. Mainly dry but some patchy rain may affect southern Ireland. Highs at 8 to 11C.

Tuesday 02/03/21
High pressure stays to the east on Tuesday with lower pressure west of Ireland. The day should be dry for many but with more cloud, although this will be broken allowing for some sunny spells. Some thicker cloud may affect southern and eastern Ireland, western Scotland and western Wales with a risk of a few spots of drizzle here. Highs at 8 to 13C.

Wednesday 03/03/21
Pressure stays generally high through Wednesday. There is the chance of a scattering of showers and some light, patchy rain as weak fronts move into western areas. Most areas though should be dry with the best of the sun to the east and south. A cloudier day than Tuesday for most areas. High temperatures at 9 to 14C.

Thursday 04/03/21
The risk of some light rain into southern Ireland and the far southwest of England on Thursday. For most areas high pressure will be in control and so the day should be dry for most with further bright or sunny spells. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland and 13 or 14C in southeast England. Most areas at 10 or 11C.

Friday 05/03/21
High pressure to the northwest on Friday. Breezy with some rain in the far northeast of Scotland. It should be brighter across England, Wales and Ireland with the best of any sunshine in southern England. Highs at 6 to 8C for most, 10C in southern Ireland.

Saturday 06/03/21
Pressure stays generally high into Saturday though a weak front continues to slide south over Scotland and into the northeast of England bringing cloud and patchy rain here. Mostly dry elsewhere with some good spells of sunshine. Highs of 5 to 8C.
