Getting brighter and drier through the week, mild or very mild

Wet weather over the north and west of the UK and Ireland at first this week with a risk of some localised flooding. Many other areas will be dry. Higher pressure will be building through the week and into the weekend with conditions increasingly mild and with some good spells of sunshine.

Thursday 25/2/21
Early morning cloud across East Anglia and southeast England clearing. There could be some drizzle affecting southern coasts. Much brighter for northern and western England, Wales and Scotland as well as Ireland. Heavy showers in western Scotland where it will be windy too. Showers affecting western Ireland too. Other areas staying dry with sunny spells, these lasting well into the afternoon. Highs at 8 to 13C.

Friday 26/2/21
A ridge of high pressure affects most of the country through Friday. This is going to be bringing dry weather and good spells of sunshine for much of England and Wales. Cloudier in Scotland and Ireland, some drizzle in the west. Brighter in the east. Highs at 9 to 12C.
 

Saturday 27/2/21
A weak front over much of England and Wales on Saturday. This is likely to be bringing cloud and some outbreaks of patchy rain. Drier in Scotland and Ireland with some sunny spells. Highs at 10 to 13C.

Sunday 28/2/21
Higher pressure remains on Sunday. This brings more dry weather with good spells of sunshine across many areas. The southwest breeze may give more cloud to western Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 10 to 14C.

Monday 1/3/21
Pressure remains high on Monday. A dry day with sunny spells and broken cloud for many areas. There is a risk of some thicker cloud bringing drizzle to northern Scotland. Highs at 9 to 12C.

Tuesday 2/3/21
High pressure will be to the east of the UK on Tuesday. A fair day with sunny spells for many. Thicker cloud in Ireland and perhaps the northwest of Scotland with some drizzle falling from this. Highs at 10 to 15C.
