Showery Bank Holiday weekend, then drier and warmer for a time next week.
The long holiday weekend will see some showers, in places falling heavy with the risk of thunder and lightning, but also sunny spells. Next week sees higher pressure more dominant bringing mostly dry and for many warm weather, though signs of turning more mixed towards the end of the week.

Monday 1/5/23 Monday sees an area of low pressure pass across northern Scotland with a trailing front of showery rain to move eastwards across parts of east and southeast England in the morning, possibly producing some heavier bursts. Otherwise, bright with sunny spells and mostly dry conditions though the risk of some showers developing through the day. Highs rising to around at 14 to 19C.
Tuesday 2/5/23 High pressure looks to play a more dominant role by Tuesday with most staying dry and fine with developing sunny spells again and rising temepratures, though a few scattered showers in places cannot be ruled out through the north and west. Highs at at 15 to 20C.
Wednesday 3/5/23 High pressure keeps most dry on Wednesday with many seeing sunny spells, though perhaps always more cloud across Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland where the risk of some showery rain is higher. Highs at 15 to 20C.
Thursday 4/5/23 A strengthening southeastly wind on Thursday though with high pressure centred north of Scoland and low pressure in the Atlantic. Anothe rmostly dry day though the risk of some showery rain through southern Ireland and southwest England into south Wales. Highs at 14 to 20C.
Friday 5/5/23 By Friday weather looks like it could trun more mixe dthrough Ireland, southern England and Wales with showers as well as longer spells of rain about. Further north and east staying mostly dry. Highs at 12 to 18C.
Saturday 6/5/23 Saturday sees showers and longer spells of rain across Wales, southern England move slightly further north and affect central into northenr parts of England by the afternoon. Scotland staying largely dry. Highs at 12 to 19C.
