A dry and fine start to May before Atlantic lower pressure moves in to give more mixed weather thereafter. Perhaps tending to become drier across the south and east later in the month.
*24/4/23 - 30/4/23* A mixed week with low pressure to the east and west and high pressure further south. Mixed for a time with periods of rain for some. A cold start with overnight frosts. Improvement at the weekend Becoming drier and milder.
*1/5/23 - 7/5/23* Ridge of higher pressure builds up from the south. Generally dry, fine and warm for many. Atlantic fronts move in later.
*8/5/23 - 14/5/23* Low pressure in Atlantic pushes towards Ireland and the UK A more mixed week of weather generally. Risk of rain and or showers, particularly in the north and west. Average to slightly below average temperatures.
*15/5/23 - 21/5/23* A weak trough still over the UK and Ireland. Signs of higher pressure building over northern Europe. Again likely to be a more mixed week, though tending to be drier further south and southeast.
