UK Forecast - January 15, 2021
Sleet/snow north & east
Milder west

Saturday
An area of rain, heavy in places, will spread eastwards through Friday night and into Saturday morning. Falling as sleet and snow to central and eastern England and across much of Scotland for a time, perhaps with a brief covering of snow at low levels, then turning to sleet and rain. Falling as mainly rain elsewhere. Brighter and drier weather should follow from the west, although persistent rain and sleet showers look to continue to affect western Scotland. Highs at 3 to 7C in the north and east, 7 to 10C in the south and west.

Saturday Night
Rain will eventually clear the far southeast by early evening allowing for a largely dry first night with clear spells, although expect wintry showers to affect western Scotland into northwest England and Northern Ireland. Through the early hours there will be some rain, sleet and possible snow over higher ground pushing across northern England and north Wales. Showers continuing in the north. Largely dry elsewhere with some frost and ice patches developing in places. Lows at -3 to 1C across Scotland and between 0C and 4C elsewhere.

Sunday
A ridge of high pressure builds to the south on Sunday, although low pressure stays to the north. There will be some wintry showers in northern and western Scotland. Elsewhere it is likely to be brighter although always with a fair amount of cloud, the best of any sunny spells in the east. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Monday
Monday sees low pressure north of Scotland as well as southwest of Ireland. Wintry showers or even longer spells of sleet with snow on high ground over northern and western Scotland. Rain affecting Ireland as well as Wales and central and southern England later. Drier elsewhere. Highs at 5 to 9C.
