UK Forecast - January 30, 2021
Cold and settled north
Milder yet wet south

Sunday
High pressure towards the northeast will allow for a cold and frosty start for many on Sunday morning. It will be dry and bright start for most too but cloud will increase in the west as rain, sleet and possible snow push across Ireland, Wales and southwest England through the day. Snow mainly to higher ground but lower levels could see a mix of sleet and snow at times. It will also become increasingly windy here too. Staying dry elsewhere but with some snow showers affecting north and northeast Scotland. Highs at 1 to 4C for most but across southern Ireland and the far southwest of England highs will reach between 6 and 11C.

Sunday Night
Overnight, it will continue to be wet across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, central southern and southwest England. Snow will fall over the higher ground here. Rain will eventually reach towards London and western areas of the southeast corner later on in the night. Staying largely dry elsewhere, clear skies to the north but cloudier skies elsewhere. Possible snow showers for north and northeast Scotland. Lows fall to between 0 and -2C for most but can fall to -8 to -10C across the higher ground in Scotland.

Monday
A frosty start across Scotland, parts of Wales and northern England on Monday morning. High pressure will be to the northeast while Atlantic low pressure systems continue to push into western areas. Southern and southwestern areas will start wet and cloudy but the rain here should soon clear to allow for drier conditions to develop. However, through the afternoon rain will spread across Ireland and reach Wales and southwest England later on in the day. Winds will pick up too. Staying dry and fine elsewhere with the best of the sunshine across eastern areas. A chilly day with highs at 2 to 6C for most, though southwestern parts of the UK and Ireland could see highs of 8 to 10C.

Tuesday
Low pressure west of Ireland will continue to push fronts east on Tuesday. This is going to be bringing heavy periods of rain and strong winds through many areas. A period of snow could affect northern England and southern Scotland as the rain meets colder air. Staying dry across northern Scotland. Highs at 2 to 6C in northern areas and a milder 8 to 12C elsewhere.
