Thursday
A wet, breezy morning across most of England, eastern Wales and the east of Scotland. The rain falls as sleet and snow in eastern England, perhaps giving a covering of snow at times. Misty too with low cloud covering the hills. Western parts of Wales, and southwest England should become drier although staying cloud. Brighter in Ireland with sunny spells. A few showers on northern and western Scotland. Highs at a cold 2 to 3C in eastern areas, 9C in southwest England and west Wales as well as the Hebrides and Ireland.

Thursday Night
Some drizzly outbreaks of rain and mist in central and eastern areas at first this evening. Turning drier overnight with further mist or fog patches developing, especially in central and eastern areas. Clearer skies in central and eastern England with clear skies and a widespread frost. More cloud through Ireland and the west of the UK, a risk of low cloud and drizzle on coasts. Lows near -5C in Scotland, widely 0C and nearer 2 or 3C in the west.

Friday
A quieter day for Friday as a reach of high pressure builds across the country. There may be some mist and fog patches at first especially through central and eastern areas. These should slowly lift and then maybe some bright or even sunny spells coming through here. Always tending to be more cloud in northern and western parts of the country although even here that could be one or two brighter spells. It should stay dry. Winds increasing in the west of Ireland later, bringing rain here through the afternoon. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Saturday
An area of rain, some of it heavy will be spreading eastwards through the night and into Saturday morning. This could be some sleet and snow to central and eastern England and eastern Scotland for a time, perhaps with a brief covering of snow at low levels. Brighter and drier weather should follow from the west with sunny spells developing, although more persistent rain and sleet in western Scotland. Highs at 4 to 6C in the east, 9C in the west and south.
