Wednesday
Cool and cloudy for most at first this morning. There will be some outbreaks of drizzle and patchy rain affecting central and eastern Scotland but this should fade through this morning. Some bright spells developing elsewhere through England and Wales as well as western Scotland. A few bits of rain and drizzle affecting Northern Ireland this morning. This afternoon sees skie generally increasing across England and Wales. Some sunny spells for much of Scotland, especially the north and east. Thicker cloud across Ireland brings rain here and that rain reaching Southwest Wales and Southwest England later this afternoon. Remaining cool across the far north of England and Scotland,but milder for the rest of England, Wales and Ireland. Highs near 3C in northern Scotland, 11C in southwest England.


Wednesday Night
A wet night ahead as a band of rain spreads east across most of the British Isles. The rain turns heavy in England and Wales. Snow for western and southern parts of Scotland, but staying dry in the far northeast. Some snow across the Pennines too. Local flooding is possible in central and northern England as well as southern Scotland due to a combination of rain and melting snow. The rain eases later in central and southern Ireland. A mild night at 5 to 7C for many, but -1C in northern Scotland.


Thursday
Occluded fronts bringing more rain to the far north of Northern Ireland and northern England on Thursday morning, this falling as snow in central Scotland. It may turn to snow over parts of northeast England too. Dry and cold for the north of Scotland, although rather cloudy, the best sunshine across Orkney and Shetland. Milder and drier for a time across central and southern England and Wales, perhaps with some bright spells. However, a further area of rain quickly arriving into Ireland and then west Wales and southwest England by late afternoon an evening. Further flooding is likely across northern England and southern Scotland. Highs at 12C in the south, 3C in central and northern Scotland, 4C in northeast England.


Friday
An occluded front reamins through Ireland and northern England on Friday with an area of low pressure over the south. The front marks the boundary between cold air to the north and the warmer air to the south. More rain affects Ireland, much of Wales, central and northern England. Snow over the Pennines. A few brighter spells of more southern parts of England. Brighter and colder for Scotland with sunny spells to come here, and some brighter periods in Northern Ireland too. Highs at 12C in southern England, 3 or 4C in the far north of England and Scotland.
