Thursday
Periods of rain across Scotland as well as northern and north-east England through Thursday morning. The rain falling snow over central Scotland. Quite a cloudy start for the rest of England, Wales and Ireland although there will be some breaks in the cloud allowing a few bright or sunny spells to develop. This afternoon says further snow in central and northern Scotland although drier in the south with rain in the east. Another area of rain will be crossing Ireland and this will be reaching western Wales and Southwest England by late afternoon. For the rest of England it should be a dry afternoon with some bright and even sunny spells. Highs at 12C in southern England, 5C in northern England and 2C in northern Scotland.

Thursday Night
A wet night to come across much of England and Wales with some heavy periods of rain. Turning drier across Ireland and much of Wales and Southwest England through this evening. Remaining wet for much of Scotland with snow in the north and rain to the south. Rain is likely to be clear in eastern England by the morning. A mild night in most areas but still cold in northern Scotland. Lows of -1C in northern Scotland, 7C in southern England.

Friday
Low-pressure will be affecting central parts of England through Friday this gradually moving east. There will be plenty of cloud across much of the UK. Snow affecting parts of central and eastern Scotland with some sleet and snow in north east England. Rain across central and southern England and Wales gradually spreading eastwards. Brighter overall in Ireland although some showers here in the morning. Highs at 10C in southern England, 3C in much of Scotland.

Saturday
Another area of low pressure crosses southern England on Saturday. There is some uncertainty over exactly where this will be but at the present time it appears an area of rain and sleet will be crossing Ireland, Wales, the Midlands and southern England. It may be that an area of snow develops across the Midlands and parts of East Anglia. Drive for northern England and Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Cold for all with temperatures at 2 to 4C for most, but 7C in the far southwest.
