Wednesday
Another chilly day ahead. There will be further wintry showers affecting eastern coast of England with the most persistence of these across Kent and part of Sussex as well as the coast of Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. For many other areas the day is going to be dry. The best of the sunshine will be in the west with central and southern Scotland seeing most of it. Ireland will be mostly dry with sunny spells although some cloud in the far west and some showers in the east. Cloud increasing in western Scotland this afternoon, some rain in the Hebrides this afternoon. Tops at 1 to 3C for many, 5C in the far southeast, but just 2C in parts of Ireland and Scotland.

Wednesday Night
A few wintry showers continue to affect parts of Kent overnight. For most parts of England and Wales it should be dry with clear spells, severe frost in northern and western areas. An area of rain in Northwest Scotland will be moving into northern and central areas of Scotland and turning increasingly to sleet and snow. The area of rain, sleet and snow also affecting north-west Ireland. Lows at -3 to -6C in northern and western areas, 0C in the east.

Thursday
A band of rain, sleet and snow will be passing through southern Scotland, central and southern Ireland as well as northern England on Thursday morning. This then slips into the rest of northern England, Wales, the Midlands and parts of Southwest England this afternoon. The rain may fall as snow mostly, but not exclusively, over high ground. Drier and brighter to the south and east. Much colder weather follows into Scotland and Ireland with some snow showers in northern Scotland. Highs at 4C in southern England, 2C in northern Scotland.

Friday
A cold day on Friday with plenty of cloud across much of England and Wales. A week front will be bringing some outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow to parts of northern England, Wales and the Midlands. Probably dryer across more eastern parts of England although still some showers feeding into Kent. Brighter and cold for Scotland and Ireland with some snow showers affecting North East Scotland. Highs around 1 to 3C.
