Cold, fog & frost
Largely dry

Wednesday
A chilly start again, some seeing a touch of frost too. Mist and fog is also expected first thing but this should lift for most. More cloud about today but still some seeing sunny spells. Mostly dry and feeling cold, though expect thicker cloud in the west with some rain affecting western parts of Ireland later pushing on to western regions of Scotland. Highs at 4 to 9C.

Wednesday Night
Overnight, patchy rain moves across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Largely dry elsewhere with clear spells though some showers will push on to some coastal regions of England and Wales along with some fog developing. Another cold night with frost and ice expected and lows at -1 to 5C, lower for some rural areas.

Thursday
A cold day on Thursday as a ridge of high pressure extends through the British Isles from the east where most will be bright with sunnny spells and dry weather, while Atlantic fronts attempt to bring more cloud and some rain to parts of Scotland. Highs at 5 to 7C.

Friday
An increasing easterly flow for most on Friday. There will be more cloud in England and eastern Scotland, some showery bursts here and there but many will stay dry. It may be that the rain turns to sleet or even some snow over the high ground in the east. Brighter in the west with some bright or sunny spells. Highs at 6 to 8C.
