Plenty of cloud about to start the day with outbreaks of rain affecting as far south as the Midlands and East Anglia and up through Scotland where rain is expected to be more persistent and heavy. The far south will see the best of any brighter weather. Sunny spells gradually develop more across England through the day though showery rain still about across north Wales and northern England. Rain staying persistent and heavy across many Scottish counties where flooding is likely to become a problem for some. Highs at 7 to 11C.


Friday Night
Overnight, rain gradually eases and clears for some across Scotland and northern England. Elsewhere will be mostly dry with clear spells. A chilly night with frost developing for some as lows drop to 0 to 5C.

 
 
 


Saturday
A chilly start though a dry and fine day for many thanks to ridging high pressure, however, expect low cloud and spells of rain to affect far eastern areas of England and Scotland with patchy rain still about across more central regions of Scotland. Cloud will build through the day from the west with outbreaks of rain moving eastwards across Northern Ireland and Ireland reaching western parts of England, Wales and Scotland by evening. Highs at a chilly 6 to 9C.


Sunday
The band of heavier rain will have mostly cleared most far eastern areas by Sunday morning though expect still spells of rain to affect north and east Scotland. Brighter weather arrives from the west, although some heavy showers over western and southern coasts and hills. A chilly day with highs at 6 to 10C.
