Rain through Scotland and eastern England this morning, some of it heavy with strong winds. Becoming brighter from the west during this morning with some blustery showers affecting western coasts and hills. Snow for a time over the hills of Scotland. This afternoon is bright with sunny spells as rain clears northern Scotland. Further showers over western and southern coasts and hills, some blustery and heavy. Drier for more inland areas, although even here there could be a few showers. Highs at 7 to 11C.


Wednesday Night
A breezy evening with showers over western and southern areas. Drier away from these places with some clearer skies developing. The showers tending to ease during the night as the winds become lighter too. Gales moving back into Ireland by morning with heavy rain in the west. Lows at 3 to 7C.
 


Thursday
An are of low pressure west of Ireland on Thursday. Gales in Ireland and much of the west and south of England and Wales. Rain here too with some of the rain heavy at times. Tending to be brighter in central and eastern areas with sunny spells and increasing winds. Rain arrives in central, southern and eastern England as well as eastern Scotland in the afternoon. Drier and windy weather in Ireland and western parts of the England and Wales with showers here. Tops near a slightly milder 9 to 12C.


Friday
Rain affecting the northwest of Scotland on Friday, this turning more showery. For other areas of the UK and Ireland a ridge of high pressure will be building. This will give fair conditions with sunny spells. A few showers affecting western coasts and hills, although drier in other areas. Temperatures at 8 to 10C.
