Morning Call - May 19, 2019
Mostly cloudy
Scattered showers

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 19th May 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mostly cloudy day with some scattered showers around. These could turn rather heavy and thundery through the afternoon.

Good morning,

A few showers will linger over western areas first thing this morning with an area of more persistent rain affecting northwestern Ireland. Showers will spread to more central and eastern areas through the morning but they will be rather isolated. A cloudy morning on the whole with a few sunny spells for parts of northern England and the northeast of Scotland. Rather murky along North Sea coasts.

Rain should ease for northwestern Ireland through the afternoon but some heavy showers are likely to flare up over central and eastern parts of the country. Heavy, thundery showers flaring up over southern and central parts of England too through the afternoon while isolated scattered showers will continue to affect parts of Scotland. Staying dull along eastern coasts of Scotland and England. High temperatures at 11 to 14C in the west, 15 to 18C in the east though some parts of the southeast could see 20 to 21C.

Showers continuing for eastern parts of Ireland and the UK through this evening but these should ease as night falls. Clearer skies over Ireland, cloudier over the UK.

Have a great day!
Claire
