Morning Call - May 20, 2019
Sunny spells
Heavy, thundery showers

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 20th May 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Another mixed day of sunny spells and scattered showers. Showers predominantly in the east and these could be heavy and thundery at times.

Good morning,

A cloudy start to the day for eastern areas with scattered showers affecting parts of England and Scotland. Clearer skies to the west though a few isolated showers may linger over western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Showers continuing over Scotland through the morning, easing over eastern England. Staying dry and bright over much of Ireland, Wales and western and central England.

Through the afternoon, showers will intensify over eastern Scotland and heavy, sometimes thundery, showers will flare up over eastern and southern parts of England. Staying dry and, mostly bright elsewhere though cloud will build, particularly over the southwest, at times. High temperatures widely reaching 14 to 18C. Cooler in the northwest at 10 to 12C; warmer in the southeast at 20 to 22C.

Showers will ease into Monday evening to leave a bright end to the day for most, though some prolonged heavy bursts of rain could continue for northeastern parts of Scotland.

Have a great day!
Claire
