Morning Call - May 08, 2019
Cold, wet & windy
Windy in the north

Wet and windy, feeling cold, snow on Scottish mountains

Good morning,

If you were tempted to stay under the bed covers this morning, in many areas of the UK and Ireland that may have been a good option! Low pressure is bringing heavy periods of rain, strong winds and cold weather in Wales, eastern Ireland and northern England as well as eastern Scotland where there will be snow on the hills. Gales developing in the northeast.

Probably drier in western Ireland and wester Scotland with some bright or sunny spells here. Turning brighter in the far south of England with some sunny spells, but scattered heavy and possibly thundery showers developing. Heavier showers in southern Wales and southwest England.

More snow over the mountains of eastern Scotland tonight, rain in the northeast and staying cold. Scattered to the south and west with more showers to come.
