Morning Call - May 31, 2019
Breezy, wet again in the northwest
Dry south and east

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 31st May 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Another wet day for northwestern areas with frequent outbreaks of rain. Dry to the south and east though rather cloudy at times.

Good morning,

A chilly start to the day for the northern half of Scotland, milder elsewhere. A wet start for northwestern parts of Ireland, western Scotland and northwest England. Mostly dry elsewhere. Rain will continue through the morning, spreading across Scotland with some very heavy bursts for the western Highlands.

Rain will edge eastward across Ireland through the afternoon becoming increasingly patchy and showery as it goes. Rain will persist for western parts of Scotland and northwestern England, becoming drier in places in the east of Scotland through the afternoon. Staying mostly dry but rather cloudy elsewhere across England and Wales but there may be the odd shower for western Wales. Brightening later for Ireland. High temperatures reaching just 13 or 14C in the northwest of Scotland, 21 or 22C in the south and east of England.

Into the evening rain will ease and skies will clear across Scotland though some drizzle may persist in parts of the northwest. Some heavy bursts of rain persisting for northwest England and perhaps developing over northwest Wales too. Cloudy in the southeast.

Have a great day!
Claire
