Showers will affect many areas today though there will be some good sunny spells in between in the north. Cloudier to the south.
Good morning,
It's another chilly start, especially in the west where a touch of ground frost is likely this morning. Some good sunny spells over Scotland though there will be a few wintry showers around too in the north. A weak front stretches across Northern Ireland, Wales, the Midlands and into East Anglia where showers are also likely through the morning. Ahead of the front, to the southwest, it should be a dry morning with some cloud around.
A band of showers will spread into northeastern parts of Scotland through the afternoon while over England, showers could merge to bring longer spells of rain to the Midlands and into East Anglia. Some showers may also develop over Ireland and Wales. High temperatures widely reaching just 8 to 11C, though 13 or 14C is possible in the far west of Ireland and in southeastern parts of England.
Showers will continue over northeastern Scotland and over central parts of England through the evening. Sunny spells will continue over the northern half of the country while it will be cloudier to the south.
Enjoy the Bank Holiday! Claire
