Morning Call - May 05, 2019
Cool
Sunny spells

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 5th May 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A cool day across the country with some good sunny spells for most. Rain for northern Scotland and showers affecting eastern parts of England.

Good morning,

It's another chilly start to the day with a widespread frost, especially for central and western parts of the country. There may be some showers around for southern Scotland, the north of England and the Midlands and some light rain over the Northern Isles and the far north of Scotland. A dry and bright start to the day for Ireland and Wales.

Showers will spread southward across England through the morning and into the afternoon they may merge to give longer spells of rain over parts of Yorkshire and the Midlands. Rain will continue for the far northeast of Scotland. Everywhere else should see a dry and sunny afternoon with high temperatures widely reaching 8 to 11C. Warmer in western Ireland with highs of 13 or 14C possible here.

Cloud will build over southwest Ireland into the evening while showers will continue to edge southeastward through England affecting the Home Counties, East Anglia and the southeast through the evening. Rain will continue over the far north of Scotland.

Have a good day!
Claire
