Hot & dry southeast
Fresher, showers to the west

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 29th June 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A cold front brings shower outbreaks of rain to Ireland and western parts of the UK today. Staying dry and mostly bright ahead of this to the southeast.

Good morning,

A showery and fresher start to the day for northern and western areas; brighter and dry to the south and east. Eastern parts of Ireland could see some heavier bursts of rain through the morning which will spread into western Scotland by lunchtime. Showers affecting much of Scotland, western Wales and southwestern parts of England.

Into the afternoon, some heavier bursts of rain will develop over Wales, spreading across northwestern England and into southern Scotland. Scattered showers continuing across much of Scotland and parts of Ireland too though there will be some good sunny spells between the showers. Staying dry and mostly bright across central and southern parts of England. High temperatures here reaching 30 or 31C. Cooler to the north and west at 20 or 21C.

Showers could turn thundery through the evening for northwestern parts of England and over the southern half of Scotland. Showers, some heavy, continuing for northern and western parts of Ireland and elsewhere across Scotland. A dry and bright evening for the rest of England and much of Wales.

Have a good day!
Claire
