Showers, outbreaks of rain west
Dry, brighter south and east

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 30th June 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Showers and outbreaks of rain affecting Ireland and western parts of the UK today. Dry, warm and bright to the southeast.

Good morning,

It's a showery and breezy start to the day for Ireland and western parts of the UK. The heaviest showers over northwestern Scotland through the morning. Mostly dry for England and Wales though northwestern areas could see a few spots of rain. Cloudier to the west, dry and brighter to the south and east.

Showery outbreaks of rain continuing through the afternoon across the island of Ireland and Scotland with the heaviest of these over southern Scotland. Showers spreading across Wales and across western parts of England too throughout the afternoon. Staying rather breezy too in the northwest. High temperatures at 15 to 17C in northern and western areas, 23 to 25C in the southeast. More widely we'll see highs from 19 to 21C.

Into this evening and showers will ease for most areas away from northwestern parts of England and Scotland where they may persist. Drier and brighter elsewhere with good spells of evening sunshine for England, Ireland and Wales.

Have a good day!
Claire
