Windy, outbreaks of rain at times, mostly in the north and west with temperatures varying

A breezy week ahead with strong to gale force winds on some days. Temperaures varying as well as cool air breaks though, only to be pushed back north by milder air off the Atlantic. There will be cloud and outbreaks of drizzle and rain. Southern areas tending to see little rain.

Thursday 3/2/22
Low pressure is expected to be to the north of Scotland on Thursday. A front brings persistent rain into western Scotland and Ireland, this reaching the rest of Scotland, northern England, Wales and all of Ireland in the afternoon. Dry in southern England and East Anglia until evening although turning wetter in northwest England and the west and north of Wales in the afternoon. Breezy for all with gales in Scotland. Mild too at 8 to 12C.


Friday 4/2/22
A cold front clears south on Friday morning with brighter, colder weather following from the north. This gives a cooler, brighter day for many with some good spells of sunshine. The will be some showers, especially in areas exposed to the fresh west to northwest wind. The showers falling as snow in Scotland and northern England. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Saturday 5/2/22
High pressure to the south of the country on Saturday with low pressure to the north. Dry in southern areas with some sunny spells. However, cloud and some outbreaks of drizzle in northern and western Scotland. Windy here with a risk of gales, but the winds much lighter in the south. Highs at 7 to 10C.

Sunday 6/2/22
High pressure remains to the south on Sunday. This should bring a dry day to much of southern England and Wales with some bright spells and feeling mild again. Fronts through Northern Ireland and northern England bringing cloud and rain here as well as gale force winds. A risk of some snow showers in northern Scotland. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 12C in southern England.

Monday 7/2/22
The aeea of high pressure stays to the south of the country through Monday. This brings a mostly dry day with plenty of cloud but also a few brighter spells in the east. Cloud and some drizzle in western areas. Highs at 6 to 12C.

Tuesday 8/2/22
A weak front over the far south of England brings cloud and some drizzle here. Drier in northern England and much of Scotland and Ireland with some brighter spells. Colder in Scotland with good spells of sunshine and a risk of some snow showers to the north. Tops at 5C in northern Scotland, 8C in southern England.
