Mist and fog patches about but also sunshine for some
Staying largely settled as high pressure remains dominant. Mist and fog always likely for some and could be slow or stubborn to lift. Perhaps cooler towards the end of next week.

Sunday 16/1/22 A front sinks south down the country on Sunday bringing the wind flow into the north-west. This brings some outbreaks of rain through England and Wales, clearing from the north through the day where cooler air pulls south. Drier, brighter and feeling cooler further north, though showers affecting the west Highlands. Highs at 6 to 11C.
Monday 17/1/22 A cooler day on Monday but staying mainly dry thanks to high pressure centred over southern England. Some morning fog patches are to be expected through parts of England and Wales but these should try and lift through the day. An early frost. Highs around 5 to 9C.
Tuesday 18/1/22 A frosty start in the south on Tusday with some rather dense mist and fog across many parts of England and Wales at first. This will only slowly clear, but when it does a few bright spells will occur. Cloudier further north with outbreaks of rain pushing into western and central regions of Scotland. Highs at 5 to 8C across central and southern England, more like 7 to 11C further north and west.
Wednesday 19/1/22 A cloudier day for many as a weak front sinks south down the country on Wednesday bringing patchy rain to some as it pushes south. Clearing Scotland and northern Ireland in the morning with drier, brighter though cooler conditions here. Highs at 5 to 9C but turning cooler across northern and central Scotland later.
Thursday 20/1/22 A cooler day for many on Thursday. Largely dry and bright though some showers brushing eastern coasts of Scotland and England as well as affecting the far nroth of Scotland. Perhaps more cloud cover, mist and fog for western areas. Highs at 4 to 7C.
Friday 21/1/22 A frosty start to Friday for many and a chilly day is expected. There is a brisk wind through much of Scotland will bring up the wind chill factor here. Blustery showers through western parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland too. Drier elsewhere with sunny spells though some mist and fog likely in the south and southwest. Highs at 4 to 7C.
