Monday 3/1/22 The main area of low pressure to the west of Scotland slides down over the country on Monday. This brings rain to northern and western regions in particular, some turning to sleet and snow over the hills towards evening. Largely dry elsewhere with sunny spells though some scattered showers in the west. Another breezy day. Highs at 7 to 11C.
Tuesday 4/1/22 A colder day on Tuesday as a north to northeasterly flow develops for all. This brings a mix of sunshine and showers, the showers falling as sleet and snow at times. Also a weakened front will bring rain, sleet and snow passing south through northern into southern parts of England during the day. Highs at 3 to 8C.
Wednesday 5/1/22 A ridge of high pressure builds overnight and into Wednesday bringing a dry and frosty start to the day. Cloud soon increasing from the west as a warm front moves in from the Atlantic bringing rain preceded by snow over Northern Ireland and the Scottish hills. Highs at 3 to 9C.
Thursday 6/1/22 A windy day for all with gales to the north and west. A front with rain on it will push southeastwards across the country, likely for some snow on the preceding edge. Drier and brighter behind though some blustery showers about. Highs at 4 to 10C.
Friday 7/1/22 Another windy but largely dry day, although some frequent and heavy showers across north and west Scotland, falling as a mix of rain, sleet and snow. Highs at 4 to 9C.
Saturday 8/1/22 Windy again with rain, sleet and snow through north and west Scotland. Sunshine and showers elsewhere. In that brisk wind there will be a wind chill making it feel particularly chilly. Highs at 5 to 11C.
