Weather staying mixed to at times unsettled though becoming milder for all next week.

Weather continues to remain mixed with mostly rain moving in but some sleet and snow over higher ground is likely. Always cooler across Scotland into northern England through Christmas but milder for southern areas. Turning milder for all from mid week next week though wet and windy.

Monday 27/12/21
A low pressure system looks likely to remain just to the south of England on Monday and will bring cloud and possibly some spells of rain to southern counties. Rain, sleet and snow showers at times through northern and central Scotland. Drier elsewhere with some sunny spells developing across Northern Ireland and parts of Wales. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Tuesday 28/12/21
Tuesday sees a frontal system with rain, snow on preceeding edge, push eastwards across the north. Central and southern England though staying mostly dry. Milder air starts to push in from the south today. Still cool though across Scotland into northern England. Highs at 4 to 7C in the north and 8 to 12C further south.

Wednesday 29/12/21
An unsettled day on Wednesday as more rain pushes in across the country, falling heavy in the north and west. Drier further south. Strong to near gale force winds are expected. A much milder day with highs at 11 to 15C for most, though still cool across northern and central areas of Scotland.

Thursday 30/12/21
High pressure over the near continent on Thursday sees a drier day for most, although trailing fronts across northern and northwest Scotland will see rain affect these regions. Staying windy. Highs at a mild 9 to 14C.

Friday 31/12/21
Currently a drier day on Hogmanay as a ridge builds in. Some good sunny spells about too, more so further south and west. Highs at a mild 9 to 14C still across the country.

Saturday 01/01/22
New Year's Day will see a windy morning but winds should ease through the day. Rain affecting western areas but drier elsewhere. A very mild day once again with highs at 11 to 16C.
