Christmas Day
On Christmas Day a further weather system moves in from the southwest, falling as mostly rain over southern and central England, Wales and Northern Ireland and eventually into the very far southwest of Scotland. Snow expected over the highest ground. Drier elsewhere with some developing sunny spells, although some sleet and snow showers could affect the hills in northern England and Scotland. A windy day is expected and a cool day for many in the north and east with highs here at 3 to 6C though in the south and west highs will be at 8 to 12C.

Rain and hill snow continues across Northern England, southern and western parts of Scotland pushing northwards later on Boxing Day, giving some accumulations to higher ground and possibly to lower levels too. Light rain or drizzle for much of the day across central England and Wales. Largely dry elsewhere. Highs at 4 to 7C through Scotland and northern England, 8 to 11C elsewhere.
