A weak front draped across central and southwest England plus Wales will bring murky conditions, low cloud and drizzly rain, locally steadier rain over Welsh hills. Drier and brighter toward the southeast of England. Also mainly dry for northern England, south and eastern Scotland. A few light showers in western Scotland. Light winds in the south, breezier in the north. Stormy conditions for the Northern Isles at first will ease as a deep low pulls away northward. Mild in south, highs 10 to 13C. Cooler in north, 6 to 9C.

Monday night
Some heavier rain for a time on Monday evening across Wales and northwest England. Light rain drifts across eastern England overnight. This all tending to fizzle out with time, but staying misty and damp for much of England and Wales. Some cloud breaks for northern England and southern Scotland. A little rain for northwest Scotland. Light winds for most, but fresher southwesterlies for Scotland. Mild in the south, 7 to 10C, but cooler north, lows 1 to 4C, local slight frost.

Tuesday
Strong southwesterly winds across the northern half of Britain and Ireland, whilst high pressure resides to the south. Dry for many areas, although a little drizzle will affect western coasts and hills with a lot of low cloud. Wetter in northwest Scotland with periods of heavier rain over the mountains. Largely dry for eastern Scotland. Some mist patches in southern England. Brightest skies toward the east with some sunshine. Highs 7 to 12C.

Wednesday
A mild southwesterly flow across Britain and Ireland, with high pressure to the south. A warm front drifts across Northern Ireland into western Scotland bringing light rain and drizzle, some heavier rain over the West Highlands. Cloudy and damp for western England and Wales. Dry with some brighter spells in central, southern and eastern areas. Light winds in the south, breezier in the north. Highs 8 to 12C, mildest in the south.
