A quiet week, plenty of dry weather, a fair amount of cloud

Higher pressure will be building through the course of this week and this will bring lots of dry weather. There will be mist and fog patches as well as drizzle. A fair amount of cloud throughout for most areas. Bits of rain in northern and western Scotland. Temperatures are likely to be close to average or slightly below throughout the week.

Tuesday 11/1/22
A weak front trails through England and Wales as well as the south of Ireland on Tuesday. This brings cloud and much drizzle and patchy rain. Hill and coastal fog is likely. Sunnier for north and west Wales, northern England, Northern Ireland and much of Scotland. A few showers may affect western Scotland. Highs at 5 to 7C for most, 10C in southwest England.
 

Wednesday 12/1/22
High pressure over southern areas of Ireland and the UK on Wednesday. There will be some mist and fog patches again through England, Wales and Ireland. Plenty of cloud is possible with some drizzle on hills. A few bright spells may develop in southern and eastern areas. Breezy in Scotland too. Highs at 5 to 7C, but to 9C in the far north of Scotland.

Thursday 13/1/22
High pressure stays to the south again on Thursday. Breezy with some drizzle in north and west Scotland. Dry for most other areas with a fair amount of cloud. The best of any brightness in northeast England. Some mist and fog in southern and central England and Wales. Highs at 9C in any sunshine, more generally 5 to 7C but to 9C in northern Scotland.

Friday 14/1/22
High pressure reamins on Friday. More mist and fog patches for England and Wales although these slowly clearing for some. There may also be a fair amount of cloud around too with some drizzle oin hills. More persistent rain in the far north of Scotland with drizzle in the northwest. Highs at 5 to 7C, 9C in northwest Scotland.

Saturday 15/1/22
A shallow area of low pressure could bring some showers to parts of Scotland and western parts of England and Wales. Drier and brighter in the east and south. Highs at 5 to 7C.

Sunday 16/1/22
High pressure to the south bringing dry weather here. Morning mist and fog patches again through Wales and southern England, only slowly clearing. Outbreaks of rain in northern and western Scotland. Tops at 5 to 8C.
