Up and down weather currently before high pressure moves in next week.

A turbulent weather pattern over the next few days with wind and rain at times as well as brief settled periods dominated by higher pressure ridges. High pressure becoming more dominant through next week. Chilly for many initially then a generally more milder flow moves in next week.

Sunday 9/1/22
A ridge of high pressure builds over the country on Sunday. This brings a dry day for many with sunny spells. Cloud and rain though approaching Ireland and Northern Ireland in the afternoon then on to affect Wales and the southwest late in the day. Winds strengthening again too. Highs at 6 to 9C.
 

Monday 10/1/22
Fronts bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle on Monday. Expect low cloud to affect coasts and hills, especially in the west. More persistent rain in western Scotland. Drier further southeast. Becoming milder through the day with highs reaching into double figures for most, though northwest Scotland seeing highs at a cooler 7C.

Tuesday 11/1/22
High pressure builds in on Tuesday bringing a largely dry day, however, southern regions of England and Wales will start off with more cloud and some drizzle. Brisk winds across the north, while a lighter breeze further south. Highs at a tad cooler 6 to 10C.

Wednesday 12/1/22
Another largely dry day thanks to dominant higher pressure, but with showers affecting western regions of Scotland and northwest Ireland as well as mist and fog patches further south. Breezy still through Scotland. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Thursday 13/1/22
High pressure dominates bringing mist and fog across parts of England and Wales, less so further north due to a brisker wind. Some showers through west Scotland also. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Friday 14/1/22
High pressure bringing dry conditions through England and Wales, but a weak front will push southwards further north seeing patchy rain affect Scotland and Northern Ireland clearing from the north through the day. Highs at 6 to 10C.
