Dry weather persists although some low cloud and drizzle in northern and western Scotland

Pressure is going to be staying high through the coming week. This brings lots of dry weather, a risk of some mist and fog in much of England and Wales. Lower cloud and some drizzle in northern and western Scotland at times. Temperatures are likely to be close to average for the time of year.

Saturday 22/1/22
High pressure is expected to be centred over the south of England on Saturday. There may be some morning mist and fog patches, these slowly clearing to leave broken cloud and bright or sunny spells. A weak front affecting northwest Scotland bringing some low cloud and patchy rain. Drizzle may affect western Ireland too. Highs at 6 to 8C, but 10C in the far north of Scotland.


Sunday 23/1/22
The area of high pressure remains over the south of the UK. More mist or fog patches may affect the far south at first, again this lifts to leave a dry day with bright or sunny spells, More cloud in the northwest of Scotland with some outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Highs at 6 to 8C.

Monday 24/1/22
High pressure stays over the UK and Ireland on Monday. Fog in the morning in southern and central England and Wales may be slow to clear. Where it does clear it should be dry with a few bright spells. Thicker cloud in northern Scotland with some rain here. Highs at 5 to 8C, but colder where fog persists

Tuesday 25/1/22
High pressure remains over the UK and Ireland for Tuesday. This brings a morning frost with some mist and fog too. The fog could be dense in places and may last through the day. It will clear from some areas with bright or sunny spells forming, Always more cloud and some drizzle for the north and west of Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 6 to 9C.

Wednesday 26/1/22
A weak front passing east through Scotland on Wednesday bringing cloud and rain, some heavy in western Scotland. Drizzle and patchy rain for northern England as well as the in the north and west of Wales. Drier in more central and southern areas, rather cloudy and mostly dry. Cloud and some drizzle in western and northern Ireland. Highs at 7 to 10C.

Thursday 27/1/22
High pressure brings a dry day to much of Ireland, England and Wales. Cloud will be broken with some bright spells here and there but always a lot of cloud. Drizzle again affects northwest Scotland. Highs at 7 to 9C.
