Brighter from west

Tuesday
Starting dry in northern and eastern Scotland as well as eastern England early on Tuesday morning. Cloud and rain across Ireland and into western Scotland, western England, the Midlands and Wales will be passing quickly eastwards as the morning progresses. Drier and brighter weather will be following into Ireland from the west. During this afternoon rain will be mostly affecting eastern parts of Scotland and eastern England with the brighter, dry weather into western parts of the UK. Showers in Ireland some of them heavy. Breezy in the south. Becoming milder in southern areas at 15C, but just 10C in northern Scotland.


Tuesday night
A breezy night for England, Wales and Ireland. Showers will be blowing onto western coasts sandhills, a few of them heavy and possibly thundery. More central and eastern parts will be drier under clear skies but will remain breezy. Lowest temperatures between 4 and 8C.
 


Wednesday
Sunshine and showers are the order of the day for Wednesday. Most of the showers affecting western parts of the UK and Ireland. The showers may merge into longer spells of rain here and could bring some hail and thunder with them. These heavy showers affecting southern coasts of England too. Fewer showers in central and eastern areas which is where the best of any sunshine will be. It will be a breezy day for all. A coler day at 9 to 13C.


Thursday
A brisk south-westerly flow will be affecting all parts of the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Rain will be spreading eastwards but the heaviest of this affecting western coasts and hills. Gales are likely in the west. Central and eastern Scotland is probably going to be dry at first, as will be the east of England. However, rain will be arriving here in the afternoon with the winds increasing. Highs at 10 to 15C.
