Rain should clear the southeast corner first thing on Sunday, but is likely to linger across some southern English counties throughout much of the day. The low pressure centre will continue to circulate just to the west of Scotland, bringing brisk winds, particularly to northern and western areas, as well as heavy showers or longer spells of rain to west Scotland and western parts of Ireland. Showers will affect much of Wales as well as southwest England through the day. Drier conditions further east. Highs between 9 to 13C.

Sunday night
Overnight, showers or longer spells of rain will continue to affect western areas with drier conditions further east. Rain still potentially affecting the southern English coasts. Winds stay brisk to the south and west. Lows range from 3 to 9C.

 
 
 

Monday
Low pressure tracks from west to east across northern parts of the UK on Monday. This will bring rain to southern parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland as well as northern and central areas of England and Wales. Drier elsewhere. Meanwhile, a brief ridge of high pressure builds in the west pushing the low offshore and allowing for a largely dry evening. Breezy for a time for most but winds slacken off through the day. Highs at 9 to 12C.

Tuesday
A wet and windy start on Tuesday for western areas although dry across more central and eastern areas. The band of rain will spread from west to east across the country through the day. Rain looks to be heavy and persistent across parts of Scotland. Winds in the west of Ireland strengthening to gale force strengths later on. High temperatures range from 9 to 14C.
