Saturday
A deep area of low pressure to the west of Scotland will sweep associated fronts from west to east across the whole of the UK and Ireland through the day. Rain will be heavy on the front but will clear as the front passes with sunny spells but also blustery showers developing behind. Eastern and in particular southeastern areas will stay driest for longest. Winds will also be strong to gale force in places. A warm day across southeastern England with highs here at 16 to 17C but cooler further north and west with highs at 10 to 12C.

Saturday night
Rain, heavy and persistent in places, will continue to affect southern and southeastern areas through the evening and into the night before clearing through the early hours. Elsewhere, expect some clear spells but also blustery showers, these heaviest and most frequent in the west. A breezy night for all with winds strengthening more across western parts of Ireland later. A chilly night across northern and central Scotland with lows here close to zero. Elsewhere in the north and west lows around 5C and further south and east expect lows at 8 or 9C.

Sunday
Low pressure is centred just to the west of Scotland on Sunday. The heaviest rain will have just about cleared the far southeast tip of England first thing. It is looking like a mixed day generally with sunny spells and showers, these heaviest and most frequent in the west and showers turning into longer spells of rain in the northwest. Blustery winds expected too, particularly across the northwest. Highs range form 9C in the north to 13C in the south.

Monday
Low pressure tracks from west to east across Scotland on Monday which will see longer spells of rain across western Scotland and parts of southern Scotland through the day. A mix of sunny spells and showers elsewhere with most showers in the west. Turning drier across Ireland and Northern Ireland later on as a brief ridge builds in here. Breezy for a time for most but winds slacken off through the day. Highs at 10 to 14C.
