Some bright conditions in the east of the country at first this morning but cloud and rain already in the west will be sweeping eastwards quickly. Increasing winds with gales affecting western areas and the rain becoming heavy through the morning across much of western Wales, Northwest England and western parts of Ireland. Staying dry in North East Scotland with some sunny spellsThis afternoon is then largely cloudy and damp with heavy rain affecting western and southern Scotland as well as Northwest England. Plenty of mist and drizzle over western and southern coast and hills. A breezy afternoon but becoming milder. Staying dry in Shetland and Orkney. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 15C in southwest England.

Thursday night
A damp night in Wales and across many western coasts and hills of England with outbreaks of drizzle and rain. Misty with fog around coasts. Drier in central and eastern areas of England, rather breezy too. Showers in Scotland merging to longer spells of rain at times in the west. Lows near 7 to 11C.
 

Friday
A front brings cloud and rain through Ireland, western Wales and western England as well as southern Scotland on Friday morning. There will be some drizzle affecting southern coasts of England too. The sun may poke through the could in central and eastern parts of England in the afternoon and it will feel very mild here. The rest of Scotland will have a fair amount of cloud, although some drizzle may trouble western coasts. Central and eastern Scotland is likely to be dry. Highs at 17C in southern England, 9C in northern Scotland.

Saturday
A deep area of low pressure over Ireland on Saturday will be bringing a windy day to all. There will be rain, most of it in the north and west and some of it could be heavy. Eastern parts will see more patchy rain although it is going to be staying windy here as well. Heavy showers across Ireland, some of them could be thundery. A risk of severe gales in the west. Highs at 10 to 16C.
